why do people use google instead of yahoo?
seems like google is a really boring and lacking search engine. yahoo has all kinds of cool stuff like weather, yellow pages, real estate, and so on, but google has nothing.
Google is the search engine for most tech savvy people who want information without all the frills or know what they are looking for. Did you know that for several years Yahoo was powered by Google? Google has tens of thousands of servers in clusters located throughout the world. No search engine can touch them for speed and coverage. Yahoo on the other hand has tailored their business so the general surfer can look up things by the prompts and links already provided to them by the Yahoo interface.
Both search engines have an audience. I use Yahoo for news, weather,and sports. I use Google for all my serious searching.
